이솝우화를 읽는데요....The Ass And Its Shadow 동화인데...아리송한부분이 있어어요.
The road led across a treeless plain where the Sun beat down fiercely. So intense did the heat become, that the Traveler at last decided to stop for a rest, and as there was no other shade to be found, the Traveler sat down in the shadow of the Ass.
이문장에서...So intense did the heat become <--이말이 이해가 안가요. 무슨말인가요? 뭐가 더 더워진것 같은 느낌이긴한데....
그리고..
Wishing also to rest in the shade cast by the Ass, he began to quarrel with the Traveler, saying he had hired the Ass and not the shadow it cast.
이 cast가요...그림자를 드리워주다...이런뜻으로 이해하면 되나요?
아..또마지막에서..
The two soon came to blows, and while they were fighting, the Ass took to its heels.
Ass took to its heels.
이말도 이해가 안가요. 뭔가 중요한 액션을 한것 같은데...
